Saints announce new partnership with CPS and the ABC program!
September 30, 2014
Cincinnati Saints, Cincinnati Public
Schools, and Activities Beyond the
Classroom Form Partnership
The Cincinnati Saints are proud to announce a partnership with Activities Beyond
the Classroom (ABC) and Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) . This partnership falls into
the Saints' mission of giving back and growing soccer in Cincinnati.
Activities Beyond the Classroom exists to provide support to Cincinnati Public
Schools' students for engagement in extracurricular activities throughout the year,
offering opportunities to build leadership, teamwork, responsibility and self-discipline
to help students succeed in life.
This is a hands-on partnership for the Cincinnati Saints organization. Along with
financial support, Saints players and coaches will participate in soccer programs for
CPS by ABC for students in fourth through sixth grades. There currently are 25 CPS
schools participating in the girls program. There also is a pilot program for the boys at
Roberts Academy in Price Hill.
Along with this partnership, Stargel Stadium, at Taft Information Technology High
School, will be branded "The Home of the Cincinnati Saints." The Saints will also
make game-day upgrades to the stadium's concessions and overall fan experience for
the 2016 National Premier Soccer League season. In 2015, Stargel Stadium will
undergo facility upgrades, including a new field turf, improved internet capacity, and
individual seating.
The Cincinnati Saints, founded in 2009, play in the National Premier Soccer
League. The Lady Saints play in the Women's Premier Soccer League. The
organization also competes in the Major Arena Soccer League Premier. The Saints
organization is committed to giving back and growing the game of soccer in
Cincinnati; more info at CincinnatiSaints.com.
Activities Beyond the Classroom is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that raises
private funds from corporations, foundations and individuals. It awards these funds to
support a variety of extracurricular activities; more info at ABCCincy.org.
Cincinnati Public Schools offers families more high-quality school choices and
academic programs than any other system in the Tri-state. CPS continues to lead
Ohio's eight large-city school districts in overall student performance; more info at
www.cps-k12.org.
